Fun at the cabin!

Mike and I have been wanting to go up the cabin all summer. Seems like with Mike's work and school, there was always something and we never made it up. We finally were able to go up last week. We never go up during the week cause we're usually working but we were able to go up during the week this time. I love being on maternity leave! It was so nice up there during the week. So quiet and not hardly anyone up there. We had so much fun too! We really didn't want to come home. Definitely will need to plan another trip up there before I go off of maternity leave.

We took up Porter's BB gun and the boys' bows. They were out shooting those the whole time we were up there. We saw some deer and Porter was determined to shoot one. It was really funny! He kept telling Dad that it needed to be deer season so he could shoot a deer.

Watch as Porter and Ryker try to sneak up on the deer!

We took up the 4 wheelers too and went on some rides. It was cooler than I was expecting and you really had to bundle up for rides. We had to put on all the jackets up at the cabin. So poor Kyler had to wear a pink jacket. Atleast he was warm!

We also had a fire and made some smores. They were delicious! Mike and I heard of a new way to make smores, with a Reese's peanut butter cup. Very good! Best way to make smores for sure!

We had a lot of fun and can't wait to go up again! Such a nice, relaxing, much needed little vacation!

4th of July

The 4th of July is always so much fun. One of my favorite holidays. It's always a busy holiday but tons of fun. We went to the balloon festival first thing in the morning on Saturday. Mike worked at the hospital the night before and got off just in time for it. So, I loaded all the boys up and met him there. We have kind of made it a family tradition of going every year. The boys love it too!

We had a BBQ at my parent's house with everybody on Sunday. Then of course we did fireworks. Usually it's complete chaos of fireworks for about 15 minutes and then that's it. This year was a little more mild. The kids all wanted to light them. So, they would line up and Kristy would hand them a firework and then the Dad's helped them light them off. Then Jared bought some arial fireworks that were pretty cool. We played games of course too. The funniest was doing the wheel barrel races. Too bad it's kind of dark in the pictures.

On Monday we took the boys to the splash pad. We wanted to do something fun as a family on the actual holiday. Mike had clinicals that night so we played during the day. We have only been to the splash pad one other time but the boys love it. I might have to take them there more often. I thought of getting fireworks to light off with the boys that night but with Mike working, I decided not too. We'll have to get some fireworks to light off on the 24th.

All and all it was a lot of fun! My boys were pretty tired by the end of the weekend!

Bridger is here!!

Bridger Shaun Olson
June 19, 2011
6 lbs 5 ozs
19 1/2 inches

So, I went in for a doctor appointment on the 13th and my doctor said that he would induce me on the 19th. I was in shock that he would induce me on a weekend. Didn't think that they would want to do that. He said that he was at the hospital all day that day so lets give him something to do. I never got really miserable with this pregnancy so I didn't know what to do. I wasn't dying to get the kid out of me. I came home and talked to Mike. We decided to just go ahead and do it. I was looking at the calendar that night and I realized that the 19th was Father's Day. I didn't know if that was what Mike would want to do on Father's Day or not. He said that he thought it would be cool. So, I called my doctor the next day and said to go ahead and schedule me for an induction.

They called us about 6:15 am and said to come in. We got there about 7:00. They said that it was a good thing that we got there when we did because they got really busy and if we would have called they probably wouldn't have taken me. We had the little guy at 4:00 on the dot. I thought the process would have gone quicker since it was so fast with Kyler but it seemed to take forever. We got him here though nice and healthy.

I can't believe how tiny the little guy is. Mike and I were thinking that he would be our biggest baby but he's actually the smallest. We need to fatten him up since he has 3 older brothers!

We are so happy to have Bridger as part of our family!!
