Sea World!!

Mike had a couple weeks off between semesters so we wanted to do something fun as a family. We were just going to take the trailer and go camping. Somehow that turned into going to Sea World! It was such a last minute trip but it was so worth it. We found a really good package deal that included our hotel and Sea World so we just went with it. We had to be back by Thursday to have Ryker's tonsils out. It was kind of a short trip. We left Friday after I got off work. We drove to Primm which is about half way and stayed the night. Got up the next morning and drove the rest of the way. When we got there, we just swam and hung out at the hotel. Then we spent 2 days at Sea World. Then we had a day at the beach. Then a drive home all in one day. It was so much fun and the boys loved it. Just forwarning that trying to get 3 little boys to all look at the camera at the same time was pretty much impossible. So, we just have what we could get!

They have rides now at Sea World. They didn't when I was there. I wasn't able to go on any since I'm pregnant but the boys had fun going with Mike.

Ryker wasn't tall enough to go on this ride but Porter was so he went on it with Dad. He kept telling Mike before he went that it was going to be awesome. They take a picture when you are going down the drop off and Porter looked scared to death. It was so funny! Mike was just watching Porter the whole ride laughing. They got soaked too. You can see them at the back of the boat in the second picture. After the ride Porter said it was so fun but he didn't want to go on it again!

Peguins!

One morning the flamingos were out. Porter wanted to go touch them so bad.

Sharks!

Both days Kyler knocked out for a little bit in the stroller. It was nice for him to take a little nap!

We got to hold some starfish. The boys thought that was so cool!

Shamu! Shamu! Shamu!

The sea lion show.

And the dolphin show. As you can see we sat in the soak zone for this show and we got soaked. The first day the boys didn't think it was that fun getting soaked. Ryker and Kyler started crying. The second day we got even more soaked at the show and that was fun for them. They knew what to expect that time!

This is after the show. You can't really tell from the picture but they are soaked.

We took a pack and play for Kyler to sleep in. It was so cute, when we would come back to the hotel, the maids would have made Kyler's bed too. Had to take a picture of it!

Mike's New Job!

Mike got a job at the hospital!!!! We are very excited! Mike heard in class that they had 4 postitions available. They really wanted to hire someone from his class because they really like all the students in his class. So, they told them all to apply. Mike did and he got a phone call for an interview about a week later. He went in for his interview and was really nervous. He had no idea what to expect. He came home and wasn't that excited. He didn't feel like he did very good in the interview. We weren't really counting on a call back. Then one day when he was at his clinicals, one of the guys hiring came and got him and asked him a few questions. Mainly wanted to know what his plans were for the future and if he was planning on sticking around. A few weeks later people in his class started getting emails that they didn't get the job. That was on a Friday. He never got an email. We couldn't help but start to get our hopes up at this point. He was texting everyone in his class trying to narrow it down who was left. There were 3 of them that hadn't gotten an email. We talked about him getting the job all weekend. Monday I get up and go to work and about a half hour after I get there I get a phone call from Mike. He tells me he got the job!!! It was very unexpected but we were really excited too. It's just a PRN (as needed) position. We weren't sure how we were going to work this out with me working and the kids. Well, it ends up that most of the shifts are nights and weekends. That works out good. He had his first shift March 25th. He said it was so busy but it was a lot of fun being on his own. This is a great opportunity for Mike to get his foot in the door and get some experience. Hopefully it'll pay off and when he finishes school, he'll be able to get a full time job. Isn't he amazing? He thinks he bombs the interview and he gets the job!

I went potty!

Kyler went pee in the toilet for first time on Sunday! And then again on Monday! We pulled out the little toilet a while ago because he acted like he wanted to go to the bathroom with his brothers. He didn't want anything to do with it though. We kept trying to get him to go on it but he wouldn't. Mike got him to for the first time though. Mike got all excited and made such a big deal about it that it almost scared Kyler. Kind of funny! I don't think we're anywhere near potty trained yet but it's a start!

Mike loves the picture below. Looks like a true man reading on the pot!

Ryker's 3rd Birthday

So, for weeks before Ryker's birthday I kept asking him what he wanted for his birthday. All he would say is "green." Not sure what that meant. He said he wanted to eat green, he wanted green and that was it. Mike said, he's a smart kid, he wants the green stuff (money)! He finally told me that he wanted a chocolate cake with green frosting on it. He did get that at one of his parties. He got lots of fun toys. We got him a bike which he was so excited to have a big bike like Porter. He also got a toy gun, a bike helmet, green pants, big balls, green motorcycle toy, green dump truck toy, toy tent and a bow and arrow. One spoiled little boy!

It's a BOY!!!!!

We found out this week that we are having another boy! Yes, 4 boys!!! We are so excited! I think everyone was more disappointed than Mike and I were. I think everyone thinks I'm sad about it too. I think it will actually be a lot of fun. Now Kyler will have a little buddy too. No one will be left out. We can just do all boy things and have all boy toys at this house! One question that I keep being asked, "are you going to try again for a girl?" Nope! I always said that I wanted more boys than girls. Guess I got what I wanted! My boys will just have to marry some really cool girls for me! Now we gotta figure out a name for this little one. We had such a hard time last time we better get started now. Any suggestions?

Running 2010

Mike started running when I was pregnant with Kyler. Nothing serious, just some running here and there. About 6 months after I had Kyler I started running too. That was February of this year. My sister in law, Raylene, ran a half marathon in March in Moab that we went down to. It got me all motivated to run one. She told me that we should sign up for the Hobble Creek Half in August. Sounded good to me. That got me training. Mike was going to run it too but he was in school and wasn't sure he would have the time to train for it. During my training process we ran several other races. The first was the Homestead Run 15K over Memorial weekend. That is 9.3 miles. Mike and I had never ran that far before so that was going to be a first. Mike and I signed up for it and ran it with my brother Josh and his wife Katie. We were very happy with how we did since it was our first race and our farthest distance. Mike and I both ran it in 1:34 about a 10:11 minute mile.

The next race that I ran was Ragnar which I already did a whole post on so I won't tell you about it again!

The next race that Mike and I ran was the Speedy Spaniard 10K on July 24th. We ran it with Josh, Katie and Raylene. The only goal that Mike and I had was to be under an hour. We did even better than that and we were so happy with how we did. Mike 56:31, 9:08 minute mile and Heidi 56:45, 9:10 minute mile.

Then was my half marathon on August 21st. I had trained for this all summer and wanted to do well so bad. I was bummed that Mike wasn't running it with me. I ran it with Josh, Katie and Raylene though. I'm so glad that I trained good and hard for the race. It really paid off. I did so much better than I was even planning on. I was hoping to run it in atleast a 10 minute mile pace. I actually ran it in 2:02, 9:19 minute mile. I was so happy with that. It was such an accomplishment and I loved every minute of it.

Mike was so bummed that he didn't get to run Hobble Creek and really wanted to run a half too. So, I told him that I'd run another one with him. We signed up for the SoJo Half Marathon on September 25th. That only left about a month. I figured I could just keep up my training until the race and would be able to do it. Mike and I were the only ones that ran this race. A couple weeks after Hobble Creek my knees really started to hurt me. I just kept running and didn't think anything of it. That probably wasn't a good idea. I wanted to beat my time so bad on this race. I wanted to be under 2 hours and I think I really could have done it. About 11 1/2 miles into the race my knees just started burning. They hurt so bad. I just cried and walked and ran the rest of the race. I finished though. Mike did good for his first half. He was hoping to do better though. His time was 2:05 and Heidi's was 2:12. After the race though we realized that the race was about a half a mile longer than it should have been. Our times probably would have been better if the distance was more accurate. Oh well, we did it!

I had plans to run several races next year too. Was all signed up to run Ragnar with my family, wanted to run Hobble Creek again and was planning on running a marathon in September. Well, then I got pregnant and I don't think that I'll be doing all those runs next year, unfortunately! We'll see how busy Mike is with school and how many races he can get in next year! Running is a new love of ours and we plan on keeping it up!

Christmas 2010 was a knock out!

We were up half the night Christmas Eve with Kyler throwing up. So, we were pretty tired when Porter woke up Christmas morning. He came running in our room yelling, "Santa came!" He wanted to open presents so bad. He went and woke up his brothers so we could open presents. It was so much fun with the boys this year. They got some boxing gloves that they had to put on and try out right when they opened them. Ryker learned real fast that he liked punching but didn't like being punched. So he would punch Porter and then run away. It was pretty funny! Santa brought us a big trampoline. Not sure the boys knew what it was when they opened it but they were excited about 2 huge boxes. They will be really excited when it finally warms up and we set it up for them! We spent Christmas night up with Ryker throwing up. Not so fun being sick over Christmas but we still had a lot of fun.
